DIGITAL PRINTS

Hoffman trained as a graphic artist with Fritz Janschka at Bryn Mawr College and has returned to this work with her digital camera. Her approach is as a printmaker rather than a photographer. In the Seashores Series, the shape of the seahorse remains the same, but the countless variations in color and texture change the emotional content of each one. Other series are her way of capturing her appreciation of the natural world. An avid climber and hiker, Hoffman, has series of photographs from Peru, Greenland, Japan, the Whites and Rocky Mountains. More recently she has been making prints of the landscape and wildlife where she lives and works, Old Frog Pond Farm, in Harvard, MA.
