MOUNTAIN SERIES 1999 - 2003

In the summer of 2003 Hoffman joined an Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) trip with the guide service of Tangent Expeditions to the Scoresbysund area on the East coast of Greenland.

“The landscape was primitive and expansive; almost as if the earth hadn't finished forming itself. It was almost like a Zen retreat. There were no distractions. We hiked, kept ourselves warm and fed. We grew accustomed to twenty-four hours of daylight and seeing distances so vast it is unimaginable. We treasured every bit of life we came across – a sinlge feather, a white hare or a ptarmagan mother with babies."
