SEA TURTLE

Turtles need little introduction. We all seem to love turtles without needing to know why. Historically, they have been used as symbols of peace, strength and immortality. An American Indian legend describes the earth as sitting on a turtle’s back. In Thailand, at a Buddhist Temple, turtles are believed to house human souls on their way to Nirvana. In early spring in New England, turtles are seen often trying to cross roads to find good sandy soil in which to lay their eggs. Turtles have become a symbol for our own survival and the survival of the planet.
